24 Touch Football teams from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Samoa, Cook Islands, Lebanon, Thailand, Norfolk Island and India are set to descend on the Sunshine Coast for the Youth World Cup.

The Youth World Cup is being held from January 19-22 at Quad Park, Nicklin Way, Kawana Waters. The divisions being contested are Mens, Womens and Mixed in Under 18 Years and Under 20 Years age groups.

In 2001 Australia won the Women's 18 Years, Mixed 18 Years and Women's 20 Years. New Zealand took the remaining three titles; the Men's 18 Years, Mixed 20 Years and Men's 20 Years.

Australian Team Presentation Night:
The Australian team captains and flag bearers will be announced and all Australian players presented with their uniforms at a presentation night on January 16, 7:30pm at the Rydges Oasis Resort, Landsborough Parade, Caloundra.

Wayne Bennett, current Brisbane Broncos and Australian Rugby League Coach will be speaking to the Australian players. Past and present Australian Touch representatives Sharyn Williams, Scott Notley and Chris Farrow will also assist with the presentations.

Youth World Cup Opening Ceremony:
The Youth World Cup Opening Ceremony is being held on January 19, 9:00am at Kings Beach, Caloundra.

The Opening Ceremony will include an official opening from the Caloundra City Council Mayor Cr Don Aldous and The Honorary Mal Brough MP, Minister for Revenue and Assistant Treasurer.

Mr Cary Thompson, President of the Federation of International Touch Football (FIT), Mr Bill Ker, Secretary-General of FIT and Mr Frank McDonnell, President of Sunshine Coast Touch Association, will also attend.

A parade of all Nations competing at the Youth World Cup will also take place at the Opening Ceremony.

Youth World Cup Closing Ceremony:
The closing ceremony and presentations of trophies and medallions will be held on Saturday January 22 at 8:30pm.

It will be held in 'The Shed' at Aussie World, Frizzo Road, Bruce Highway, Palmview, Sunshine Coast.
