The delightfully amusing, Travels with My Aunt, opens on 22 March at Noosa Arts Theatre for a two week season.
The Guardian described it as 'a miracle of lightness and wit'.
Adapted from the celebrated novel by Graham Green, Travels with My Aunt takes you on an irreverent, often hilarious and absolutely unforgettable adventure.
Henry Pulling, a mild-mannered retired banker, leads a quiet life tending his beloved dahlias until his eccentric, outrageous Aunt Augusta suddenly appears with mysterious information about his past. Henry is drawn from the safety of his flower beds into a series of absurd, exotic international adventures.
Henry, Aunt Augusta and more than 25 characters are brilliantly and inventively portrayed by just four actors who switch identities, nationalities, ages and genders in this exciting theatrical escapade.
Directed by Liza Park, it features Steven Tandy, Stephen Moore, Frank Wilkie and Callum Hamacek.
Liza Park won the Best Director award for her direction of The Eulogy at the One Act Play Festival in 2008 and directed the very successful production of The Narcissist in 2009.
NIDA Graduate, Steven Tandy, has had a long and successful career in TV and theatre, but perhaps his most well remembered role is that of Tom Sullivan, in Crawford Productions' wartime drama The Sullivans.
Steven starred as Friar Laurence in the much acclaimed production of Romeo & Juliet at the Queensland Theatre Company following his direction of the very successful production, Travelling North, at Noosa Arts Theatre in 2012.
Steven is performing with funding support from The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) which is a Sunshine Coast Council and Queensland Government partnership to support local arts and culture.
Stephen Moore and Frank Wilkie are brilliant, versatile and experienced local actors who have won many acting awards and Callum Hamacek is a gifted young actor who has shone in local pantomimes, dramas, comedies and musicals.
