The Tewantin Neighbour Group (Gilded Lilies Sewing Circle) of The Australian Sewing Guild Inc invite you to join their group which are made up of enthusiastic people, with varying skills from the novice to the specialist.

The Tewantin Group meet the last Saturday of the month from 9am to 3pm at the Masonic Hall, cnr of Toolar and Moorindil Streets.

This month we are lucky to have an excellent teacher, Carolyn who will teach us how to use twin needle and wing needle techniques. Members bring their sewing machines and lunch and meet in an amiable environment and explore both basic dressmaking and decorative sewing techniques.
Profession sewers will share some of their secrets with the group to help them upgrade their skills and improve their sewing techniques.
The Tewantin Group has a regular program with a different topic each month and has an ongoing project of sewing items for charities and clothes for premature babies, listed below are just some of the workshops that have been held over the last few years: Maureen Thompson author of “ Why not be your own designer’ – 27 skirts from one pattern, 6 skirts with no pattern.

Alison Wheeler demonstrated dressmaking techniques. Jenny Waddell - V necklines on both knit and woven fabrics and armhole and round neck finishes in knit and woven fabrics. Louise Sparrow - inserting invisible and normal zippers Hand made necklace to match outfit; Set in sleeves and corners for collars.
Carolyn’s Decorative Overlocking techniques Heirloom sewing techniques Gift projects – items suitable to be given as Christmas presents. Silk paper making.
Bags, sewing caddies, handbags, evening bags. Quick finishes for garments, mitring corners for borders on quilts and other similar projects, bath mat, and door stopper,buttonholes, and all those special feet that come with your machine.

Ugly fabric Challenge New Members and Visitors are always welcome.
Visitors $20.00 for Workshop Meeting or $8.00 for non workshop meetings.
