When we've thrown the packaging away, what do we turn to next to escape from our dissatisfied and hurting selves? Check Facebook one more time, flick through the TV channels, drink, go shopping? We turn to these things, but we know that short term relief of our symptoms, the outward signs of our neuroses and our addictions, just doesn't work. When we are stuck in the same habituated and fruitless emotional patterns, it's time to finally look inside and see what's there. To come home to ourselves and recognise our hurting hearts, to identify our incessant negative thoughts and to counteract disturbing and afflictive delusions.

In this unique five and a half day Dharma retreat Venerable Robina will take us from a narrow-minded reference point , self absorption, to one that is extensive, expansive and ultimately fulfilling. Buddhist philosophy traditionally views life's inevitable pain and difficulties as a pathway to wisdom. Suffering is an opportunity to work positively towards strengthening our spiritual practice and enlarging our capacity for compassion. The enduring and wonderful message is that the mind can change. By cultivating and practicing awareness, it is possible to transform our negative patterns, because nothing in this world is fixed or permanent.

Outspoken, tough and fiery, Venerable Robina never fails to leave an impression on those who attend her teachings. With her unique ability to distill Buddhist tenets into a language completely relevant for today, Venerable Robina will engage, challenge, surprise and delight you in turn offering calm refuge in her inimitable style. Don't miss this amazing opportunity to investigate core Buddhist principles, and to look deep within in a safe and supportive retreat environment. Monday 2 May 6.30 pm - Saturday 7 May 3.30 pm, held in the Gompa at Chenrezig Institute.

Facility Fee $375. 10% discount for members and concession card holders. No further discounts in the way of vouchers or redemption's accepted for this retreat. Accommodation and meals available separately. Meals must be booked before 10 am on the day of the event.
