Where the North Shore Meets

Are you a resident involved in a local community group within the areas of Pacific Paradise, Marcoola, Mudjimba or Twin Waters?

If so, then you are a potential user of the proposed "North Shore Community Centre".  The North Shore Community Centre Steering Committee invites you to attend a design workshop on Wednesday, 19 January 2005 from 7.00pm-9.00pm at the Sunshine Coast Airport's Mt Coolum Room, Friendship Avenue, Mudjimba.

The design workshop will be held with potential users to finalise the "functional requirements" of the Centre.  The outcomes of the workshop aims to gather information that will integrate users' different ideas and expectations; allow the architectural brief (building programme) to be drafted; and establish a clearer understanding of the project.

The vision of a Community Centre for the North Shore community is finally moving towards becoming a reality with Maroochy Shire Council contributing $527,000 in the 2004/05 capital budget towards its development.

You may have been involved in a number of surveys, community consultations and public participation events that have been run over the years.  Perhaps you have previously commented on draft plans on the design of the layout of the facility.  Site investigations are currently being completed in preparation for the lodgement of planning documents for the centre.

Please RSVP to 1300 366 695 as numbers are limited.  Light refreshments will be served.  For further information on the Centre please call the head of the Community Centre Steering Committee, Angelo Giovas on 5450 5404.
