Pat Flynn has had many challenges in his life. His entry into the world was dramatic and breathless, until they got the umbilical cord sorted. As a young boy he took up tennis and won many junior championships, but didn't quite beat Leyton Hewitt.
After travelling the world as a pro tennis player and coach and graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991, Pat took up the new challenge of teaching young people in high school. At the same time, he also took up skateboarding. This is what has inspired his very popular books for young readers.
