A Packed Programme for Yag'ubi

Yag'ubi World Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary.  To help celebrate this momentous occasion the festival committee have a few new items on the menu.

To start off the celebrations there is a Yag'ubi Retrospective exhibition at the ARTxDESIGN Gallery at 56 Torquay Road, Pialba.  Which showcases 10 years of Yag'ubi through photographs.

This is also the first year that the Festival has had it's own wine label, which will be for sale at the bars when you come to the Festival.

The line up of performers has some old favourites, but also some new comers.

Tommee and the Neighbourhood combines roots, reggae, blues, latin and afro beats to create their own 'Urban Jungle Grove' that will transport you to the heart of the jungle and infect you with the rhythm of freedom.

Papasa is a 7 piece Brisbane based African drum, song and dance group.  Colourful costumes, funky rhythms, soulful melodies and vibrant dance will set the stage ablaze.

Mikelangelo is renowned for his profound yet humour lyrics, idiosyncratic guitar and accordion style and astonishing baritone voice.  He has toured arts and music festivals nationally and internationally to great acclaim with his group The Black Sea Gentlemen.

Mihirangi creates a one woman band using a loop pedal live in front of the audience.  Drawing on her Maori roots she is a powerful vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.

Diana Clark, acclaimed Melbourne singer, presents a concert of thrilling Brazilian songs accompanied by the Fabulous Women's Choir and Friends.  It's celebration time at Yag'ubi so come and party with the thrilling samba rhythms and lush harmonies of this mysterious vibrant culture.

Programmes are available onsite.  For more information on the performers and what's on offer at the Yag'ubi Festival this year, visit www.yagubi.com.au
