Yulyurlu Lorna Fencer Napurrurla

Yulyurlu Lorna Fencer Napurrurla (c.1920s – 2006) was a significant pioneer in the Central Desert art movement at Lajamanu. Her artistic career began modestly in 1986 when she joined around 100 other enthusiastic Warlpiri at the Lajamanu School’s acrylic painting classes.

By the mid 1990s she had emerged as one of the most sought-after artists in the region. A Touring exhibition from Artback NT, Arts Development and Touring in conjunction with Visions of Australia, Mimi Arts and Crafts, Australia Council for the Arts and Northern Territory Government Department of Natural Resources, Environment, the Arts and Sport.
