Police are investigating after vehicles were stolen from a Sunshine Coast car yard.

Around 1.30am on Monday, a group of five people attended the car yard on Caloundra Road at Caloundra West in two vehicles – a light-coloured Holden ute and a light-coloured VW Golf.

They gained entry to the office and removed a large number of car keys before leaving.

The group returned several hours later and used the keys to steal two vehicles.

Anyone who may have seen a white 2016 Ford Falcon XR6 with Queensland registration 132XPI or a 2014 silver Holden Commodore SS ute with Queensland registration 660X66 is urged to contact police.

The vehicles were detected on the Gateway Motorway at Belmont.

Police would also like to speak with anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area near Caloundra Road at Caloundra West around the time of the break in to come forward.
