As we start preparations for Christmas, spare a thought for those doing it a bit hard over the festive season and give the gift of literacy.
As a part of council’s Sunshine Coast Libraries festive celebrations, the annual Books4Kids Christmas gift drive has begun.
Sunshine Coast Libraries and the Salvation Army have once again joined forces to promote literacy and spread the Christmas cheer to less fortunate children around the region.
The concept is easy. You simply buy a new children’s book and drop it into any Sunshine Coast Library. You don’t even need to wrap it as the Salvation Army will look after this.
The books will be then distributed to less fortunate children and families by the Salvation Army through their Santa workshops.
The drive runs until December 18.
