As you look back on the year that was, there's one thing I hope stands out: this year was incredible.
TheGetUp movement has been under more intense pressure and scrutiny than at any point in our history. But we've rallied together, achieved more, and we're stronger than we've ever been.
Protesters at a Marriage Equality rally and Members at a press conference calling for a federal anti-corruption watchdog.
In a win that's already changed the lives of families across the country, we made Australia a fairer and more loving place when we finally achieved marriage equality.
Together, we helped thousands of people avoid false Centrelink debt threats, and fought the government's attempts to punish people struggling with addiction by cutting off their income support.
Protestors stand in solidarity at a refugee rally and Stop Adani Activists make a human sign at Bondi Beach.
Under the cover of darkness, in the midst of a seige, we went where no journalist has gone before unaccompanied – inside the Manus Island detention centre, bringing the truth of the torturous conditions home with us.
And we stopped a billion dollar handout to offshore mining giant Adani, protecting our Great Barrier Reef, our farmlands and our entire planet from the damage the mine would cause.
All of it was possible because of people like you doing your bit to make Australia more fair, flourishing and just.

Our movement's grassroots power hasn't gone unnoticed. The impact we're having together is clearly rattling the conservative elite.
Headlines showing GetUp under attack
In 2017, GetUp was relentlessly attacked by the far right of politics and sections of the Murdoch press in an attempt to reduce our power and to silence your voice.
Whether it was another baseless smear in The Australian, politicians like Peter Dutton and Eric Abetz taking every opportunity to slander our work, or even when the far-right pushed the AEC to investigate our independence (again) – you were there, fighting back.
Next year we'll need that resolve more than ever. Just last week, the Turnbull government introduced legislation already being called the "GetUp clause", unleashing a full-scale assault on GetUp's ability to fight for the Australia its citizens want.
But we'll be ready. And just as we did this year, we will work together for fairness, sustainability and for a better future. This year was amazing, and that's all thanks to you.
We have so much to fight for, and I'm excited to do it together.
Thank you for your hard work this year.
