BACK-TO-BACK NUMBER ONE BESTSELLERS FOR JIMMY'S MEMOIRS — WORKING CLASS BOY AND WORKING CLASS MAN

Working Class Man by Jimmy Barnes, the sequel to the number one bestseller and 2017 ABIA Award Winning Biography Working Class Boy has shot straight to the number one position on the Nielsen BookScan bestseller list this week.

Working Class Man is the number one title overall and number one non-fiction title in the Australian market, according to this week's Nielsen BookScan figures. The figures confirm that Working Class Man has sold more copies than Working Class Boy in its first week. Working Class Boy has gone on to sell over 150 000 copies since it was first published in October 2016.

Nielsen BookScan says, 'Jimmy Barnes has had an astounding first week sales for Working Class Man of 18 291 copies in hardback — catapulting it to the top of the Nielsen BookScan bestseller list this week, ahead of the number two selling title by over 10 000 copies. This has also helped Jimmy Barnes become the number one biography author by value so far this year'.'

James Kellow, HarperCollins Australian CEO says, 'Based on combined print and digital sales, more than 20 000 readers have bought a copy of Working Class Man this week. We believe this makes Jimmy's book the biggest debut of any autobiography in the Australian market. We are delighted for Jimmy. His is a classic story of hope, courage and, ultimately, triumph over the demons that plagued him for almost his entire life, told with a raw and humble honesty that is both disarming and compelling, and to which thousands of Australians can relate. He deserves this success.'

Early reviews of Working Class Man are glowing. Matthew Condon, award-winning The Courier Mail journalist and author says, 'It's a fascinating insider's view of the Australian music industry and the highs and lows of fame... He constantly flirts with self-destruction and death (but) this is not just a tale of doom and gloom. It has passages that are uproariously funny.  But in the end Working Class Man is a torch song to the healing power of mateship, love and family.'

Jimmy is signing copies of Working Class Man and Working Class Boy around the country over the next four weeks. He will appear at 41 book signings and six in conversation events nationally. For further details on the book launch events see Jimmy's website www.jimmmybarnes.com.

Working Class Man will be accompanied by the Working Class Man: An Evening of Stories and Songs national tour in March to May 2018. The tour will comprise a series of live shows around the country, which are selling out fast. New shows have just been announced and tickets are available through Jimmy's website www.jimmmybarnes.com.
