A single motorcycle crash on the weekend is a timely reminder for road users to take care on our scenic tourist roads during the storm season.

Two motorcyclists were especially vulnerable on the Obi Obi Road in Kenilworth when the downhill bend obstructed their view of water lying over the road from heavy rain the previous night.

Senior Constable Pierre Senekal, Officer in Charge of Kenilworth Police Station said the motorcycle slipped from under the rider causing both persons to fall from the motorcycle.

"The rider was transported to hospital with injuries and the passenger was transported for observation,” Senior Constable Senekal said.

Police would like to remind riders to ride to the conditions and reduce speed while the stormy weather cells remain around the coast.
