Children can immerse themselves in the world of sport, games and fun over the summer break with a huge range of free activities at Sunshine Coast Council’s libraries.

Young tech geeks can become a robot master and learn how to battle EZ robots or outsmart and outplay their friends in a game of Pacman using Ozobots.

There will also be an opportunity to meet Kevin, Sunshine Coast Libraries humanoid NaoBot, and if you are old enough you can even learn how to code him.

Younger children can learn to code with Robot Mice.

For those who enjoy games, there will be life-size board games to challenge your friends (and parents), word games, puzzle finds and colour-ins or come in and take part in the Game On scavenger hunt.

Community Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said there was something for kids of all ages at council’s libraries these summer holidays.

“Our libraries have created another exciting holiday program which will definitely interest kids across the Coast,” Cr McKay said.

“They will be entertained by Fuzzy Furry Friends puppet show or they can meet and learn all about snakes from Julia Baker from Animal Planet’s Snake Boss television series.

“We encourage families to take advantage of these free and fun-filled activities to entertain the children throughout the coming holidays.

“These programs are sure to be popular so book early to avoid disappointment.”

Bookings open for the January program at 9am on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

To view the full range of holiday activities, head to council’s library website or call your local library on 5475 8989.
