"ECO Stuff & Chance to WIN a Cruise!"
We have had the pleasure of dealing with Beven from Maroochy Cruise Eco & Noosa Sound Cruises for a number of years now. He is a very nice bloke who has always been supportive of us, even when we were a much smaller website with a minuscule viewership compared to nowadays. It was wonderful to hear Maroochy Cruise Eco picked up a 'Froggy' at the recent Sunshine Coast Environmental Council Awards, in the 'ECO Tourism' Category.
As many of you can imagine, when you are cruising a boat, full of tourists, up & down the Maroochy River, to get an 'Eco' award in an environment like that is no mean feat. More and more tourism operators are joining the locals in an endeavour to make the Sunshine Coast more Eco Friendly and it is great to see. There are a lot of arguments with 'progress' vs 'environment', and awards like this prove that both can occur together given a bit of effort and care.
To celebrate this award, which Bevan is rightly very proud of achieving, he has given us 2 Nature Base Cruises to give away to a member of our 'Coast News", so you can also experience how and why this award was won. Just email "Noely" with 'Nature Base Cruise Please' in the subject line to be in the draw, of course you need to be a 'Coast News' member to be eligible.
Last thing... If you are like me, you shudder everytime you see the neighbours on the balcony and think, 'Oh no, they are putting the Xmas lights up' and then breathe a sigh of relief when they don't, cause basically, Christmas came just too early and you are not ready or prepared as yet LOL! Please don't tell me I am alone in that one?? BUT in all seriousness, I am getting all the emails from visitors again this year with the regular, "I am staying with Rels in Warana, what can I do with the kids on the Christmas Holidays?". If you do have a Christmas happening... Carols, Lights Display in your street, Santa Visits, kids holiday happenings, you name it, please let me know. As a mum, I know how busy these holidays can be, so please help me, help the other families out there know what they can do :)
Best Wishes, Noely, Community Site Co-ordinator
