I live on ten acres at Kin Kin (Noosa hinterland) where I moved with my family (to Kin Kin) in 1999 to build a house, run a small business and pursue my interests in farm forestry, bush foods and land management. Since moving here, I have learnt and come to understand the Noosa community’s proud history of protecting its unique and largely un-spoilt environments to maintain a world class tourism industry and enviable lifestyle.
I have a history of volunteering and participating in environmental, school and community groups and have acted in executive roles and undertaken submission writing on behalf of numerous resident and environmental organisations.
I am currently a Noosa Community Biosphere (Ambassador), Noosa Shire Residents and Ratepayers (Vice-President) and an active member of Citizens Climate Lobby, Sunshine Coast Climate Action Now and active in a range of other groups.
With my experience as a Councillor candidate in both the 2007 Sunshine Coast Council election and for the Green in the 2016 Noosa Council election, I have decided to run for the State seat of Noosa. (Kin Kin was moved into the Noosa electorate after the 2016 redistributions).
After resigning from the Qld Greens, after careful consideration I have come to the conclusion Noosa would be best served in the future by a strong independent representative with integrity, answerable only to the community and uncompromised by the self-serving party political system.
