A community based not-for--profit voluntary organisation which exists for the benefit of residents and ratepayers of the area formerly known as Noosa Shire, and those who have a connection and interest in the well-being of the region (NB: Only local residents and ratepayers can actually vote).
In accordance with its constitution, the Association aims to monitor rates expenditure, doing what it can to ensure rates are kept to the lowest practical level but also that acceptable levels of service are maintained by the Local Authority to the community.
The Association aims to act as an advocate for residents & ratepayers at all official levels and to work to protect the Noosa lifestyle which is based on sustainability and a good balance between the natural and built environment.
The Association enables the community to gain a better understanding of the issues affecting the matters of concern of Noosa's residents and ratepayers, by bringing together representatives from the various sectors to present at a general meeting, be guest speakers, or to participate in forums, enabling all sides to gain mutually beneficial insights and up to date information.
As a result of such meetings or forums, a sub-committee may be formed or a project officer appointed, to liaise with officials and other appropriate parties, to gather further information for the members, so that well informed decisions can be formed and positive outcomes achieved, where possible.
