The local community has had the enjoyment of playing vigoro on the Sunshine Coast since as far back as the 1940's. It has approximately 150 members at the moment.
Vigoro is a game suitable for any level of skill and for a wide spread age group (predominately women, but boys up to the age of 12 can play) - we currently have players from 6 to 65 years enjoying the game.
For those of you who might not be familiar to the sport - Vigoro appears to be somewhat similar to outdoor cricket. It is played on a cricket pitch, slightly shorter in length, the balls are much lighter, and the bat has a totally different shape with a long handle and resembling the shape of a paddle.
Games are played every Saturday at our home grounds at Jubilee Drive, Palmwoods.
Juniors in the morning and Seniors and Veterans in the afternoon.
Everyone is welcome to come and play one of the cheapest sports on the coast. Fees are just $60 for seniors and veterans and $40 Juniors for the season.
Season begins 1st October 2005.
Our Association will be hosting the Qld State Titles in January 2006 in Palmwoods.
