UnitingCare Community -- Sunshine Coast

A short summary of what UnitingCare Community does for the community of the Sunshine Coast

We first opened our doors on the Sunshine Coast in 1982, we were known as Lifeline Community Care QLD. We have since changed our name to UnitingCare Community to better reflect the wide variety of services we now offer.

Since its humble beginnings, we have helped to make a difference in over 371,000 people's lives. Today, we exist to strengthen the lives of individuals, families and communities through wide-ranging services that deliver enhanced access, efficiency and outcomes to people who are most vulnerable.

While we are most well-known for our 24-hr Crisis Support Line 13 11 14, we have also expanded our services to cover more than just crisis and intervention. Many of our centres provide workshops that focus on issues like anger management, self-esteem, communication skills and improving parenting techniques in face to face or group programs and counselling.

As UnitingCare Community we have programs that cover:
Telephone Crisis Support (24-hr Crisis Crisis Line) 13 11 14
Domestic violence
Face-to-face counselling
Community (disaster) recovery
Youth and children's services
Disability services
Prison Ministry
Family and support programs
Registered training and workshops

UnitingCare Community runs numerous second hand shops Lifeline shops across the Greater Sunshine Coast region. The shops not only provide pre-loved, donated, new and factory second items at an affordable price to the community, but they also provide the financial support which keeps our 24/7 telephone crisis support and counselling centres, located in Maroochydore and Gympie, operational.

UnitingCare Community also runs numerous second hand shops under the Lifeline name across the Greater Sunshine Coast region. The shops not only provide pre-loved, donated, new and factory second items at an affordable price to the community, but they also provide the financial support which keeps our 24/7 telephone crisis line and counselling centres, located in Maroochydore and Gympie, operational.

In addition to its services to the community, UnitingCare Community also runs fundraising activities to support those services delivered to the community at no cost. Some of those activities are as follows:
Book Fest (April and September)
