1pm to 1am NEW YEARS EVE PARTY
The place to be this NEW YEARS EVE to see the year 2008 come in, is at the party of all parties at one of the hottest new venues on the coast The Country Life Hotel in Kin Kin. This quiet little place will come alive at 1pm with 12 hours of a great variety of live entertainment with an impressive line up of 4 bands.
To start the day off are the popular western bluegrass swingsters THE SHEEPDOGS With Steve Treloar on mandolin, Lee Wilson on slide dobro acoustic guitar and Col Thorne on acoustic guitar they rattle up a magic selection of footstompin', toe tappin' and sweet western tunes.
METAFAITH with siblings Kimberley & Chris North on vocals and guitar & bass respectively are a young grunge rock band with a big bright future. Complete with Jake Frampton on drums they pull out a big sound with both covers and originals. Metafaith has a unique high impact sound with powerful female vocals and heavy riff work.
Sunshine Coast supergroup OLD SKOOL BOYS, a bunch of guys with immense backgrounds. Dennis Dunstan, Drummer and former road manager for Fleetwood Mac, has played on many albums for many artists including Steeleye Span, Roy Harper and the James Fuller Set. He is now living on the sunshine coast and bashing out good sweaty rock with his talented pals Col (the Colonel ) Chapman on bass and vocals. A very seasoned musician having played with the likes of Brian Cadd, Phil Emmanuel. At the other side of the stage we find Ray (AWOL) Floyd on guitar & vocals, among the hardest working musicians in Australia nearly made the Guiness Book of Records, for doing 376 gigs in 365 days. Just 2 gigs short. He toured Australia for 14 years with the Thorogood Show. Expect some great classics from these guys. Zeppelin to Ac /Dc, tight and fat.
To end the party off we will be entertained by the mighty rockers NATIVE ALIENS. This acclaimed local band consists of James Fox on bass/vocals, Greg Tesch on drums and Glenn Cunningham on guitar. They power out their meaty brand of funk rock and defy your will to stay still. Their repertoire includes some of the popular old classics (Jimi Hindrix, Nirvana & Black Sabbath) to some of the latest tunes ( Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metalica, Jet & U2)

No one will go hungry with an endless supply of tasty hot food available all day & night. Loads of party fun and celebrations with heaps of cool giveaways and raffles to win. Campsites for the campers( $5 pp) and Return buses from Gympie also available. Must book both in advance as soon as possible. A Sunday Recovery Day BBQ Breakfast will be available for the stayers.
