MUSIC, FANTASY & FUN @ AUSTRALIAN BODY ART CARNIVALE
The Australian Body Art Carnivale promises to be bigger and brighter this year, with competitors and visitors in for a feast of colour, creativity, music and good times.
The Carnivale takes places in the artistic Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Eumundi from the night of Friday 14 May through to Sunday 16 May, 2010.
Event Manager Danielle Taylor says this year will see an expansion of all elements of the festival, and an overriding theme of FANTASY.
"The Carnivale will again be 'A Festival of Colour' centred around body art in its many and varied forms," says Danielle. "Members of the public visiting the Carnivale will be amazed as they watch artists using the human body as their canvas."
"The Carnivale will have a gala launch on the Friday night with the Masked Gallery Art Walk, and the weekend will see competitions and exhibitions in full body art and face painting, pavement art, wearable art, vehicle body art, photography, and visual art," she says.
"Music will form a major part of this year's Carnivale, as we partner with the EUMUNDI LIVE music festival," Danielle says. "This will see two stages featuring live bands all weekend."
Danielle says EUMUNDI LIVE is being organised by MASC (Musicians), who will be announcing the line-up and ticket details in the weeks ahead.
The Carnivale will also see world-class street performers and buskers, craft workshops, a Saturday evening sunset street party, and a whole lot more.
Visit the website for more info, online registration for competitors, and to sign up to receive eNewsletters in the lead up to the event.
"You can also look at the online Gallery of images for a snapshot of the last two Australian Body Art Carnivale events and the incredible art that emerged," says Danielle.
