A Day Of Food And Wine
Delightful Gourmet tour
The Noosa Longweekend Festival invites you to join a Gourmet Safari tour into the beautiful hinterland. A day of relaxation, delicious food and good wine.
Your coach departs from The J Theatre, Noosa Junction at 9.30am.
First stop is Flaxton Gardens, Flaxton, a satellite outlet for Yarra Valley wines, at the northern end of the Blackhall Ranges.
Here you will be welcomed to a wine tasting in the Barrel Room, followed by coffee and cake on the terrace, overlooking sensational views down to the coast.
We then travel south through the attractive villages of the Blackhall Ranges to Spicers Tamarind Resort in Maleny for our Thai gourmet banquet lunch.
Your host, Paul Blain, trained under world famous Thai cuisine expert David Thompson and was the first chef to introduce authentic Thai cuisine to Noosa at his famous Chilli Jam Restaurant (now Humid).
Lunch will be a delicious 5 course Thai degustation menu (served in 3 parts) with glasses of wine to complement the food. The menu will feature fresh produce from Paul’s Thai kitchen garden as well as local hinterland products.
After lunch, we journey down the ranges to Eumundi to visit the state-of-the-art chocolate factory, Cocoa Chocolat, hosted by talented owner-chocolatiere Louisa Raven. Take this opportunity to taste and buy her award winning chocolates before boarding the coach for return to Noosa.
