Seven USC students will be organising ‘A Fair Day Out’ to be held on Saturday 19th of of October at the Eumundi Markets to support Equity Works.
Equity Works (formerly Sunshine Coast Family Networks) is a Nambour based non-profit organisation that delivers services to people living with disabilities on the Sunshine Coast.
The event, which pairs students with real clients, is part of a work integrated learning program undertaken by third year Public Relations and Communications students.
Public Relations student, Elise Sollitt said the course is a great way for students to put the theories learnt in their studies at USC to practice.
“Experience is essential for gaining employment after graduation so we all feel really lucky to be able to work with real clients to develop and execute a successful event,” Ms Sollitt said.
The free event will run from 10am til 2pm and will feature a set list of local musical talent combined with a jam tent, jumping castle, street performers and arts and craft activities.
Public Relations student, Annie Standen said the event was designed to be inclusive and interactive.
“Entry to our event is free and everyone is encouraged to come and have a go in our activity tents or just to chill out and listen to the live music,” Ms Standen said.
