What's On at the Noosa Library in September

This month we have some inspirational speakers for the Adult learners' Week event 'Reinvent Yourself' including Chris Reynolds (local inventor and entrepreneur), John Morrall (Former Biggest Loser contestant and certified life coach) and Robert Constable (finanical planner). Book early for the event that will change your life, seats are filling fast!

REGULAR STORY TELLING & YOUTH EVENTS

Story Telling: Tuesdays: September 2nd, 9th & 16th. 10 - 11am.
For under 5's.
 
Wriggle Giggle Read: Thursday's 4th, 11th and 18th September at 10am for children aged 12 months to 2.5 yrs. Stories and songs to capture young imaginations. 

Babes in Arms: Wednesday 3rd & 10th September from 10 to 10:45am. Aimed at parents and caregivers with babies under 12 months.

Battle Games @ Noosa for kids over 10 yrs. Every Saturday in the Noosa Library meeting room from 11am to 2.30pm. Come along and you will find the armies of Warhammer - Skaven, Elves, Space Marines or Lizardmen strategically battle each other.  B.Y.O Armies and game books.  Contact Young People's Services for more info.

Living Smart HOMES is a free Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay Regional Council Program that assists you to calculate your:
• Energy use,
• Waste production,
• Water consumption and,
• Transport.

The online calculators, activities and information sheets all help you to make small changes to your lifestyle, which can save you money as well as help the planet.

Reinvent yourself'
Have you ever wished you could change your life and learn from those who have?  'Reinvent yourself' is an exciting event aimed specifically at young males (although everyone is welcome) who would like to improve their lives, see what opportunities there are available to them, and help them to realise their full potential.

Reinvent yourself will feature the following guest speakers:

o Local inventor and entrepreneur Chris Reynolds.  He invented a simple sand-proof camping mat, patented it, and this is now being used by the US military and has turned into a multi-million dollar business for Chris.   
o Former Biggest Loser contestant and certified life coach John Morrall will add further inspiration based on his own experiences.  He will provide motivation on how to change your career and lifestyle.   
o Financial Planner Robert Constable, will talk on how to secure your financial future.

African Cultural Connection @ Noosa Library
Noosa Library has been successful in obtaining grant funding from Multicultural Affairs of Queensland to contribute to delivering a multicultural program in 2008.  Noosa Council Library will promote languages and cultural diversity in the Noosa region through a 12 month workshop program: Cultural Connection @ Noosa Library. The program will represent all continents and highlight a different culture on a significant date each month including Bastille Day to promote French culture, Carnevale to promote Italian culture etc.  The program will include workshops on food, dance, bi-lingual storytelling, language, conversation classes, music and art, as well as displays to promote each culture and multicultural services. 

A love letter to Africa
Featuring African-inspired entertainment, and author Sally Henderson who will talk about her passion for Africa, the people, culture and wildlife.  Sally is the author of 'Silent Footsteps'.
