Concert to support special school
The award-winning Sunshine Coast Concert Band will host their annual 'afternoon delights' concert, in support of the Nambour Special School on Sunday, March 30 from 2pm at the Kawana Community Hall.
The band, led by musical director Ken Chadwick, will be accompanied by local singers, Bev Gourlay and Aart Schouten and the event will be hosted by compere, Cam Young.
This is the fifth year the band has been involved in supporting the Nambour Special School, donating all door takings from their concerts to the organisation.
Musical director, Ken Chadwick, said the band was really looking forward this year's concert and the opportunity to help raise much needed funds for the special school.
"Those attending the concert will enjoy a great variety of classics such as Dream A little Dream of Me, Tribute to Artie Shaw, That Lucky Old Sun and Jazz Me Blues, as well as a special appearance by the sax quartet, Charlies Angels, headed by Charlie Simm. The event promises to be a great afternoon of entertainment."
All funds raised will go to the Nambour Special School. Tickets for the concert are available at the door at a cost of $10, which includes afternoon tea. For more information please call 5450 6680.
