Being aware of your obligations and responsibilities and implementing these can bring better management, move your business forward and stimulate growth. This briefing and panel discussion brings together people who have taken on the challenges of becoming a director in their own or others businesses. They will share with you their real life experiences in making this transition to becoming a director.
We will give an overview of the key risks and responsibilities a director faces with information how to better prepare yourself for competently fulfilling your role as a director.

Scott has served on the Boards of many organisations over 30 years including R&D institutes, marketing and start-up technology companies, the charity Lifeline and GOCs (Sugar Board, Deputy Chair Cairns Port Authority). Through his experiences in diverse organisations, Scott has developed a passion for good governance and has taught on this topic to many Boards.

Duncan is the independent Chairman for several privately held companies, he serves on the Advisory boards of a number of small and medium enterprises and organisations. Duncan has a range of business investments ranging from governance consulting to private wealth management.
Mr Steve Huff, Chief Executive Officer, Sixty-Second Parent
Steve has founded Typefi Systems and Praxis Systems. He sits on the board as a director of Sixty Second Parent, Typefi Systems, Back Forty Films, Club and Course and the Australia-China Business Forum. He is a respected entrepreneur with significant experience in growing companies in both Australia and the US.
Ms Tory Richards, Director and CEO, Funds Management
Tory has extensive executive experience in property funds management including Director, Australian Unity Property Funds Management, Managing Director FPD Savills (Vic & SA), National Director, Byvan Professional Services and State Director, Byvan (Vic) Pty Ltd. Tory is currently deputy chair of the Sunshine Coast Business Council, past chair of the Property Council of Australia, Sunshine Coast.
