The evocative and highly visual music of 20th century America at its best... The Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra's July concert, conducted by Adrian King, promises a true kaleidoscope of the "American Way".
From the introspection of Copland's " Fanfare for the Common Man" and Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" (performed by Hannah Pike - remember her brilliant performance of Greig's Piano Concerto last year?) to the eternal love story of Romeo and Juliette in Bernstein's "West Side Story"; from the toe-tapping hustle-bustle of Gershwin's "American in Paris" and Copland's "Hoe Down" to the razzle-dazzle of Gershwin's "Strike up the Band" - this is a concert not to be missed.
The Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra looks forward to entertaining you on July 14th with some of the best music of the modern era via "American Kaleidoscope".
