20 July, 2006 Community encouraged to apply for Annual Grants Program

Approximately $120,000 in funding is now available to the community through Council's 2005/2006 Annual Grants Program.

Caloundra City Mayor, Don Aldous, said Caloundra City organisations and individuals who make a positive contribution to the community, were invited to apply for the grants.

"Councils Annual Grants Program assists local organisations and individuals that currently provide a wide range of services, facilities and developmental opportunities for the City's community," Cr Aldous said.

"The work that all these organisations and individuals do for the community is often limited by money, which is why Council's Annual Grants Program is such a valuable avenue for assistance.

"It's important that Council continues to recognise the positive contribution made by these organisations and individuals to the quality of life in Caloundra City."

Funding is available in four categories: Community Services ($37,000), Culture & Heritage ($15,000), Environment ($20,000), and Sport and Recreation ($45,000).

To assist those interested in accessing funds, Community Education Sessions will be held as follows:

August 8, Tuesday, 5.30pm - Lake Kawana Community Centre
August 10, Thursday, 7.00pm - Landsborough School of Arts Memorial Hall

August 15, Tuesday, 5.30pm - Beerwah Room, Caloundra City Council Building
