Gallery 1 & 2

25 November -- 23 January

Official opening: Friday 26 November, 6.30pm
Opening Speaker: Christine Ballinger, Creative Programs and Planning Manager, Sunshine Coast Council

Jeff Mincham is one of Australia's most prominent and influential ceramic artists with a career spanning more then 30 years. With a reputation for monumental vessels, Mincham draws on his connection with passion for the South Australian countryside where he lives and works. His exceptional skills and extraordinary body of work are being honoured by Object Gallery through their Living Treasurers: Masters of Australian Craft series.

Gallery 3: Tanya Van Ierssel

25 November -- 23 January

The Heart of the Matter presents Tanya Van Ierssel's extended exploration of anything heart related or associated with life, loss, grief, love, memories and repressed emotions. The searching for and collecting of outcast rubbish, recycled objects and forgotten materials has been the source of imagination and invention, and forms the core of Tanya's intimate selection of pieces. 'I have transposed fragments of my memories, experiences, family myths and stories into real space, away from the anonymity of private experience.' The work seeks to articulate the experiences of life and the impermanence and fragility of our human existence.
