Australia takes on Japan in Warriors Realm Reality Fighting 6 for honour, pride and to raise funds needed for the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge Society. Warriors Realm Reality Fighting 6 is set to be a gripping evening, watching some of the toughest men in Australia battle it out against kamikaze Japanese fighters in a cage.

In the main event Queensland's own Adrian 'The Hunter' Pang will take on Japan's Hideki Kadowaki. And the Sunshine Coast's very own Kyle 'KO' Noke against Western Australia's John Veluri will contest for the Australian vacant Middle Weight title.

This unbelievable, no holds barred event will be held on the 24th June 2006 at Lake Kawana Community Centre. Some of the most exciting Warriors from Australia and Japan have enthusiastically signed up to compete at this event, all generously offering to donate their fight purses to this worthy cause. All the profits earned from this competition are going to the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge Society (SCARS).

The Warriors Realm is a hexagon eight meters in diameter with a seven ft high chain mesh fence and this heavily reinforced cage has only one gate. Come and watch as these champion Warriors battle it out in the hexagon using pure strength and combat skills.

Each Warrior uses a blend of modern and traditional fighting techniques called Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). MMA is sometimes referred to as the Triathlon of fighting. With practitioners having to be equally skilled in stand up striking, clinching, takedowns/throws and submission wrestling. Don't miss out on this opportunity to watch as these ultimate fight matches are fought live at Lake Kawana Community Centre this June.

Each fight is highly regulated and MMA fights are one of the safest and exciting combat extreme sports.

May the best man win!

Come and support these honorable Warriors as they show their softer side in an effort to raise money for the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge. All competitors are donating their fight purses and the promoter Shane Balmer is donating all profits raised from this event to this worthy cause. Shane Balmer the founder of MMA in Australia is an active volunteer at the Animal Refuge and works every day on site. Through his volunteer work with SCARS he has become more and more involved with the refuge, so much so that he donated all the profits from Warriors Realm 5 $20,000 and is donating all the profits from Warrior Realm 6 to raise even more money.

The Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge is a non-profit organization that houses up to two hundred dogs and cats at any one time. It cost $400,000 per year to run the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge and the centre relies totally on the goodwill of its volunteers. SCARS has a non-euthanasia policy and Shane and all the Warriors Realm Team have a long-term goal to building a new kennel complex for the older dogs at the refuge. These are the dogs that are unlikely to find a new home at this late stage of their lives and the team want to give these dogs the opportunity to live out there lives in dignity and comfort.

Background Information

Warriors Realm Reality Fighting is the premier Mixed Martial Arts event in Australia. MMA is the fastest growing combat sport and these elite athletes are some of the fittest men in the world. In Japan and the US MMA is so popular it pulls in crowds of 50,000 to 80,000 plus, with tickets costing up to $1,000US. Top celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg, Leonardo DiCaprio, Donald Trump, George Clooney, Eric Clapton and David Hasselhoff are dedicated ringside followers!

The sport first grabbed the public's attention in 1993 in the United States when the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tournament was held. People have always wondered would a boxer beat a black belt in Karate, could a wrestler beat a Kung Fu guy or what about a street fighter? These dynamic tournaments were the result.

Warriors Realm founder Shane Balmer initially became involved in martial arts as a teenager when he first saw Bruce Lee leap across the television screen. Shane enrolled in Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu classes to emulate his childhood hero, before expanding his fighting-style horizons. "I studied the traditional martial arts, bodybuilding, worked as a doorman and spent years in the RAAF police unit, before starting up my own large security company" said Shane Balmer. "I then started sparring with Mick Green, who was competing in a few local MMA tournaments before he went to Japan to fight in a Pancrase event. Through training with Mick, I got into Mixed Martial Arts and then starting running my own competitions and the rest is history!" continued Mr. Balmer.

Although only in Australia for a short time, MMA Extreme Fighting events are taking over from the popularity of Boxing and Muay Thai kickboxing as the most exciting, realistic combat event for spectators. Some of Australia's homegrown fighters have successfully competed on the international stage and the sport has a huge following of aspiring up and coming fighters throughout the country.

Warriors Realm debuted in Australia in September 2004 with an awesome line up that boasted international fighters and headlining the main event was 3 x Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion and UFC Veteran Roberto 'Spider' Traven who competed against Australia's most successful MMA fighter and the only Australian ever to win in the UFC Elvis 'The King of Rock n Rumble' Sinosic. This was the first time two UFC Veterans had ever fought in Australia.

Warriors Realm continues to produce fantastic shows bringing some of the wildest overseas fighters to our shores to compete against Australia's best. Warriors Realm reality Fighting Events bring together the ultimate combat combined with theatrics and entertainment.

Our motto at Warriors Realm is 'Keep It Real'. The high level of sportsmanship shown by the competitors and staff displays this. This is the Real Deal! No Holds Barred!
