Inspiration drawn from the instagram photos of Mike & Dez and the ambiance of Twig & Grace resulted in a collection of new paintings by contemporary visual artist Froyle Neideck.
This collection is made up of two parts; one titled ‘Being Home’ draws from those instagram images, colours and texture to describe their art of hospitality and the love with which they extend to all they meet. The paintings are a visual response to the feel of who they are.
In contrast, “Permeate” brings a very different feel to the exhibition, yet complimentary in its decorative value. These paintings have been inspired by sound. Froyle says “music captivates us, it arrests our emotions. It is the passion of the sound, the way music can tear at your soul, the way it can physically move you’ that is what inspires my art”. Froyle uses bold colours and rick texture creating drama and creative tension on the canvas.
Some of the paintings have been created in response to a particular sound, like a visual melody, while some of the paintings have inspired a musician to create in response to the colour and present the sound of the painting.
The Harbourside Gallery is very proud to present this very appealing exhibition which can be viewed from the 10th of September with an official opening on the 15th September, at 2 pm. Workshops will be offered during the exhibition period.
Everyone is welcome.
