Best of Pops in Nambour
Saturday afternoon 22 July at 3pm!
This year Barrie Gott and his Qld Pops Orchestra are making a return to the 'good old days' and delighting their audiences with traditional Pops classics. The Best of British is always a great hit and returns to present such standards as Rule Britannia, Nimrod, Dambusters and Pomp and Circumstance which will stir the heart of those allied with the 'mother country'.
The Best of British performance at the Nambour Civic Centre on Saturday 22 July at 3pm will feature local favourites, soprano Louise Kennedy and the Sunshine Coast Choral Society. Over the years the Choral Society has developed a reputation for excellence in choral performance and recently both Louise and the Sunshine Coast Choral Society performed at the Nambour Civic Centre with the Suncoast Symphony to a sell-out audience. This time, baritone Chris Herden will join them. Chris has appeared in many musical theatre productions across Australia including Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof, and the acclaimed Pet Shop Boys musical Closer to Heaven.
"This is going to be the Orchestra's best year yet and we are looking forward to entertaining our audiences with what we know has been very popular in the past", said Musical Director Barrie Gott.
"We would like to encourage our patrons to bring along their children, grand-children or young family members to enjoy the concert with them. They are never too young to discover the excitement of a diversity of music, performed by one of the best orchestras in Queensland", said Gott. "Just about every school has a music programme… The live concert experience can only benefit student's studies and foster their enthusiasm to perform".
Tickets to The Best of British concert can be purchased at the Nambour Civic Centre or phone 5475 7777.
