SCandidate Michael Bloyce is to employ old-style electioneering techniques in his bid to become the next Mayor of the Sunshine Coast.
Mr Bloyce will be spruiking from the back of a ute from the centre parking strip of the King Street, Cotton Tree shopping precinct on Saturday 25 February at 11.30 am. It is part of a roving program of such stop-overs designed to reach all 44 communities across the Coast over the next nine weeks.
Mr Bloyce sees this once-revered campaigning style as being symbolic of his desire to connect with the grass roots of the Sunshine Coast community and get the basics right for the people of the Sunshine Coast.
“What better way could there be to communicate a message and to hear the views of residents and ratepayers than meeting them in their local neighbourhoods?” said Mr Bloyce.
Mr Bloyce does not envisage doing any ‘circle work’ in his Campaign Ute. He also hopes that tomatoes are in limited supply during coming weeks.
