Caboolture Bookfest: Something for Every Fascination
Each year the Lifeline Caboolture Bookfest astounds organisers with the diverse range of ages and fascinations of those who attend. With over 10,000 books sourced from donations across the Sunshine Coast, the range and assortment is of an enormous magnitude. Providing only quality books is a mantra of the Bookfest organisers to ensure the three sale days from the 18th to the 20th September are a huge success for organisers, volunteers and shoppers alike.
As always, the Bookfest will be held at the Caboolture Centenary Lakes Indoor Basketball Courts at Apex Park on Morayfield Road in Caboolture. The venue will house the reasonably priced paperbacks and hard covers that offer a story of every genre for every penchant. A multitude of zealous booklovers from across the Coast, Caboolture and even as far as Brisbane and Gympie have attended the Bookfest in previous years and are expected to migrate in mass numbers again this year.
Whether it is fact, fiction, fantasy, horror, historic, futuristic, hobbies, novellas, short stories, biographies or anything else you can think of, the Caboolture Bookfest will have it. Catering to tots to teens and the more mature, the pages of each book will keep readers rapt for hours or days while they lose themselves in the stories between the covers.
The Bookfest will open each day at 8:30 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. with a flood of volunteers madly restacking for the next day! Volunteers are still being sought to help bring the biggest Sunshine Coast Bookfest to fruition with its legendary distinction. The comradery between volunteers is the glue the binds the close-knit team together and makes it a fantastic event to be a part of. This year due to its popularity the Bookfest has grown and needs more volunteers to join the hard-working team.
Volunteers for the Fest are needed from the 15th -17th and then the 21st to 22nd September to assist with packing, sorting, moving or setting up and down. More volunteers are needed for the running of the Fest from 18th -- 20th for pricing, register sales, security and bag sealing, sorters and of course the flexible relief team for breaks.
The Lifeline Bookfest is being held from Saturday18th through until Monday 20th September from 8:30 am til 4 pm each day.
