We have planned a Botanical Workshop presented by Ashley Sewell (ex Dept of Natural Resources forestry extension officer).
Involving visits to areas of Wallum, wet and dry Sclerophyll forest, rain forest and riparian vegetation, this full day workshop is designed to aid community members involved in natural resource management in distinguishing different vegetation communities in relation to landscape, landzone, vegetation formation and design and geology.
Tuesday 31st of March, we will visit Jowarra Park, Scientific area No.1, Mary Cairncross Park and the Mapleton Forest Reserve.
The tours will start from Jowarra Park (park near Rustic Cabin, Steve Irwin Way) and finish at the Mapleton Forest Reserve. Own car needed for transport.
We plan to begin at 9am sharp and finish approximately 3-3:30pm depending on the interest of the group. Bring your own lunch or buy it at Mary Cairncross caf. RSVP essential to Maroochy Waterwatch, Ph 54764777 or email@example.com.
Supported by SEQ Catchments.
