Rotary Fundraising Breakfast - All Welcome!

The Rotary Club of Noosa Heads is holding a fundraising breakfast on Sunday 29th April at the Lions Park, on the river at Noosaville.

Breakfast starts at 9am and is only $8 for students and $12 for adults.

Noosa District High School year 12 student, Sam Humbert  has been selected to represent the youth of Australia on a two week scientific study tour of Russia.

Sam was one of only 5 students in Australia to be invited to participate in the program, which was a result of Sam's attendance at the National Youth Science Forum at The Australian National University, earlier this year.

Sam was initially selected to attend the forum in Canberra based his outstanding achievements in his schools science program and was then selected from the almost 300 participants at the forum to be invited to Russia.

The purpose of the International science forum is to give these students an appreciation of science on a global scale and to show them how they might contribute to the areas of science offered around the world. Some of the areas they will visit include the Star City (the training HQ for Russian Cosmonauts), the Mission Control Centre and the Space Museum.

The Rotary Club of Noosa Heads is co-coordinating the day with the club members providing the catering and Marquees. We hope to have in excess of 100 participants and raise around 30% of the funds required to get Sam to Russia (and back again !)

Everyone is welcome and all you need to bring is yourself, your friends and family, plus a chair !
