What makes him tick?
Brendan Cowell is a highly gifted young actor, writer and playwright best known for his film roles in the crime drama Noise and the war drama Beneath Hill 60 and Tom in Love My Way, also writing many episodes for this acclaimed television drama.
On stage in 2009 he played Hamlet in a Bell Shakespeare production. Now he has become an author and his How It Feels has been called a “devastating ode to youth.”
As Brendan says, “I wanted to write it before I forgot what it’s like to be young.”
How It Feels is a novel about Australian life, particularly the Aussie male and his friendships and relationships.
Christos Tsiolkas, author of The Slap, describes it as a “lacerating, blackly comic novel about suburban masculine psyche.”
Brendan will be interviewed by noted psychologist, social researcher and author Hugh Mackay whose new book is titled What Makes Us Tick?
This will be a most assuredly fascinating session as Hugh examines what makes actor turned author Brendan tick and just what are his views on youth and contemporary society.
