Recharge - The Brisbane Symphony Orchestra is pleased to be presenting Recharge for our Spring season.

Featuring outstanding Australian and Queensland artists Recharge will send you out humming a happy tune. We are pleased to be bringing the John Adams Saxophone Concerto to Queensland. This will feature the outstanding Diana Tolmie on alto saxophone. Diana’s expertise on saxophone, clarinet and flute makes her one of the most sought after woodwind doublers in Queensland.

Graeme Koehne’s, Powerhouse: a rumba for orchestra, is dedicated to the great movie composers of the American film industry.

Andre Bonetti will be the cimbalom soloist in the Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No 3.

The pensive and reflective 2nd movement of Hindemith’s, Mathis der Maler will lead to the Symphonic Portrait: Porgy and Bess.

One of the US’s greatest composers, George Gershwin, orchestrated by one the US’s greatest orchestrators, Robert Russell Bennett will complete this fantastic concert with hits like “Summertime”, “I Got Plenty of Nothin’” and “It Ain’t Necessarily So”.
