Bruce Mathiske has been a professional musician for 22 years.  He first studied Classical and Jazz and received a Diploma in Music in improvising, arranging, composition, theory and sight-reading. Bruce is the only Australian musician to have been invited to perform and give workshops at Yale University USA.  He has developed his own universal sound and enhanced it with flavours of Australia, the Mediterranean, Ireland and sounds of Latin America and Africa.  He now tours the world playing the music he has always aspired to play and has performed with guitar icons Chet Atkins and Charlie Byrd.  His unique style of playing bass, rhythm and melody simultaneously has led to standing ovations and sell-out concerts all over the world.

Bruce's performances and workshops demonstrate the diversity from what essentially is a piece of wood with 6 strings. He uses the guitar to become its own orchestra - encompassing a huge range of genres from swing to Latin, Jazz to African, Folk to flamenco, gypsy to ambient/landscape simultaneously playing didgeridoo and more.  All from one man with one guitar who uses the diversity of many eclectic & various music influences to evolve into an exciting, unique style.

As well as numerous guitar credits, Bruce is a very committed performer and his interaction with the audience is a major concert element as proven at various world wide events including: Edinburgh Festival, Glasgow International Jazz Festival, Monaghan Blues Festival, Belfast Guitar Festival, Cork Jazz festival, Chet Atkins Nashville Guitar Festival, Brecon Jazz Festival, France International Guitar Festival, London Music Festival, Dunkerque Guitar Festival, Canterbury Music Festival, Fylde Folk Festival, + more.

In Australia, Bruce has performed at Port Fairy Folk Festival, Jazz in the Vines, Brunswick Music Festival, National Folk Festival, Hunter Music Festival, Manly Jazz Festival, Montsalvat Jazz Festival, Castlemaine State Festival, Darling Harbour Festival, Festival of Sydney, Woodford Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Folk Festival, Australia Day Celebrations for Federation Day- Sydney, Sizzling Strings Festival - Martin Place, Frankston Guitar Festival, Bellingen Global Carnival, Fairbridge Festival, Mount Beauty Music Muster.
