'Chase the Champions' at Coolum in '08
Tickets are now on sale for Australia's oldest and most prestigious golf tournament, the Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship, to be staged at the Hyatt Regency Coolum from December 4-7.
Last year over 47,000 spectators poured through the Hyatt Regency Coolum gates on Queensland's Sunshine Coast to see Peter Lonard clinch his third Kirkwood Cup.
However with Australia's two top golfers in Scott and Ogilvy already confirmed for this year's event, organisers are hoping to break the magical 50,000 barrier in 2008.
"The Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship has a real following now," said Max Garske, CEO of the PGA of Australia.
"This will be our sixth year at Coolum and we've always had the strongest field of any tournament in Australia over the last few years."
"The tournament's reputation precedes it."
In addition to the two top-ranked Australians Adam Scott (World No. 15) and Geoff Ogilvy (World No. 17) defending champion Lonard has also confirmed he will return to challenge for his fourth PGA crown.
Tickets to attend the 2008 Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship can be pre-purchased through the PGA hotline (freecall) until 5pm December 3, with golf fans receiving a 50% discount on the gate price - single-day tickets are $10, tournament passes $50.
Call 1800 009 499 to book, and be sure to keep an eye on the Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship website for all the tournament news as it happens.
