We may not get a chance to do a reckie out to Jimna between now and the trip but having said that we have all been there a couple of times before so I envisage a relatively easy day of hill climbs and decents with a few harder tracks around for those of us who are a little more adventurous.
We will probably meet up at BP Forest Glen at 7.00am for a 7.30am departure as usual and head out through Mapleton, Sandy Creek Road and on to Jimna before dropping down into the forestry area.
More details will follow closer to the date but in essence you can expect a nice drive at times through some nice bushland and a relatively moderate level of 4x4 at best, with a few nice challenges thrown in for good measure.
Lunch will be at the Peach Trees camping area (BYO) and morning tea will be wherever we are at that time of the day..
What to bring.... besides the standard recovery gear, radios etc if you have one.
Morning tea & something for lunch
Coffee or Tea if you like
Refreshments for throughout the day (comes in handy while waiting for those following to make it through the sticky bits)
Sense of adventure
Sense of humour.
The fire tower at Jimna presents a half decent challenge for those of us who have a inherent fear of heights (yes that is me and yes I did it). For those of us who don't mind heights or climbing a ridiculously tall timber structure the views are pretty good from the top..
Hope to see you all there and I will give more details or changes as they are settled.
