Expo showcases local lifelong learning opportunities
Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous will officially open the Life Long Learning Expo in Felicity Park at 10am next Tuesday 4 September
Whether you're interested in learning more about genealogy, want some tips on surfing the net or need help preparing your tax return, you'll find everything you need to get you started at a free lifelong learning expo in Caloundra next week.
Caloundra City Libraries Lifelong Learning Expo, part of annual Adult Learners Week celebrations, will showcase all the activities and opportunities available through the Library Service.
Caloundra City Acting Mayor Don Smith said the expo, from 9am until noon next Tuesday 4 September in Felicity Park will help dispel a common myth that libraries are just about books.
"Caloundra City Libraries offer an extensive support network with opportunities for learning and education across a variety of interest areas," Cr Smith said.
"Our Library Service, which operates branches in Caloundra City, Kawana, Maleny and Beerwah, as well as the popular Mobile Library, boasts a wealth of information and resources for the general public, ranging from adult literacy, a free Justice of the Peace service, a readers group and much more.
"If you haven't visited your local library for a while, you'll be pleasantly surprised to discover just how much is on offer."
As part of the expo, there will also be free Hotmail lessons from 11am, and free internet lessons from 9am.
