This gentle workshop will address one of the major problems of modern life – our pervasive anxiety, and even depression in a culture of unstoppable progress and material affluence. The more we are promised happiness the sadder and more unhappy we become.
Often we get anxious and depressed as a reaction to reality surrounding us – personal loss, catastrophic changes in circumstances, loneliness, or the pressures of daily life. Using the ancient wisdom of the Buddha we will become our own therapists using the power of our own mind.
We will look at simple meditation techniques supporting the insights of modern neuroscience. Saturday 17th Feb, 9am - Sunday 18th Feb 4.30pm. Held at the Gompa at Chenrezig Institute. Facility fee $108 Book www.chenrezig.com.au Renate Ogilvie is a psychotherapist who also teaches Buddhist philosophy and meditation.
