Caucus 2006 Planning Meeting
Premier Peter Beattie said today that he had called a meeting of Caucus for next week to focus on the major challenges facing Queensland in the coming year.
Mr Beattie said the meeting will be held on Thursday and Friday (2 and 3rd of February) in a marginal seat at Noosaville.
"I've called the Caucus together because we've got a lot of work to do this year to deliver the services Queenslanders need and I want to hear first hand from members of parliament right across the State on the concerns and issues raised by their electors.
"We'll be focussed on the pressures on the health system caused by the national doctors shortage; Queensland's on-going economic leadership and the importance of major infrastructure projects and water planning.
"I know many of my Caucus colleagues will use the sessions to raise the concerns and issues on behalf of their communities and ensure that the Government is responding to them," Mr Beattie said.
The Premier said Caucus meetings had been held regularly since 1998. Past venues have included Picnic Point at Toowoomba and Bretts Wharf in Hamilton.
