Celebrate Sundays @ Noosa Library 4/01/2006
The Noosa Library will be celebrating its inaugural Sunday opening day on January 15th by offering patrons entertainment, prizes and a free sausage sizzle.
"It's no longer going to be 'never on Sundays' for us," says Manager of Library Services, Kerri Contini, "because research for our Noosa Library Strategic Plan identified opening hours as a major library access issue, indicating there are many people in the community who have found it difficult to attend the library under our old opening hour regime.
"On Sunday the 15th we will be in party mode from 9.30 am to 3.00 pm, offering prizes for the discovery of lucky bookmarks hidden in books. Customers may be entertained by Julie Dalton's Bee Happy Puppets, by Ian Ross Williams children's singer and storytelling from two new children's books. There will also be a free sausage sizzle to support all that brainfood.
"The expanded opening hours have been factored into Council's 2005/2006 budget and the Library at Wallace Park, Noosaville will thereafter be accessible Monday to Friday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 9:30 am - 3:00 pm."
