The “who‟s who” of past performing arts students will return to Gympie State High School for a spectacular variety concert as part of the centenary celebrations in March, 2012.
While she is keeping some details under wraps until the big event, organiser Rita O‟Neil did let slip that accomplished performers and past students including Eden Read and Matthew Fell will take to the
stage for the occasion.
Many experienced and talented musicians will appear on the program including “Dr Rock” aka Geoff Walden and drumming teacher Jason Bray. Theatre director Peter Blyth and the Zodiac Players are working on skits for the concert.
Also sharing their talents with Gympie are singing teacher Kerri Eaton, the Atherton Brothers and Melanie Ricketts, now the conductor for an all-male symphony choir in Sydney.
For Mrs O‟Neil, the centenary is as much a chance to showcase the talented bunch of past and present students as it is to catch up with old friends.
