Jointly hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, the Cooroy Pomona Lions Club and the Cooroy Rotary, Christmas in Cooroy is being held on 9 December 2006.
Entertainment includes a street parade, battle of the bands, freestlye bmx display, magician, face painting, unicyclist, competitions, Christmas carols and a visit from Santa.
Christmas in Cooroy is one of the largest community events held in Cooroy and this year the program includes a street parade (sponsored by The Cooroy Rag), a variety of competitions (sponsored by Bendigo Bank, Lanhams Cooroy Home Hardware, Lewis Tyre and Mechanical and Queensland Media Print), a battle of the bands (sponsored by Cooroy & Pomona IGA), entertainment, rides and carols in the park.

IGA Battle of the Bands at the Cooroy Butter Factory starting at 2pm to 4pm
Apex Park entertainment includes Noosa Pipe Band at 1.30 pm, Fashion Parade at 2pm, performances by Betty's Tap Catz, line dancers and Dance Struck Studio on the half hour (i.e. 2.30, 3 & 3.30pm), face painting and Simon the Mighty (unicyclist and balloon sculpture), rides, fairy floss, magician, freestyle BMX display at 2.30 pm by James Moon (who used to ride for GT bikes in Europe and UK).
Children can also decorate their bikes and enter the decorate your bike competition and participate in the parade. All entrants receive a prize and there is also 4 x $50 Bendigo Bank Accounts to win. They need to register behind the RSL between 3pm and 3.45 pm.
Parade starts at 4pm and goes down Maple Street. Over 30 entries registered for the parade already and growing by the minute. Entries include both floats and walking/marching groups. There are heaps of giveaways and it is great fun.
The lions club are firing up the BBQ from 5pm and Carols starting at 6pm and a visit from Santa conclude the evening (pre-purchased tickets available on the day from 5pm).
