The Claptomaniacs are a popular, tight, Sunshine Coast based group that specialises in British and American music from the 60s to 80s.
The Claptomaniacs formed back in 2014 when R&B guitarist, David Zuric hooked up with drummer and former band-mate Alan Lander to create an Eric Clapton tribute band. The pair had formerly worked with “Hollywood” Herb (Armstrong) and the Big Jazz Cats for five years, and shared an interest in UK-inspired R&B as well as Clapton material.
Collecting talented keyboard player Jon May, bassist Jon Brown and finally lead singer Kenny Gamble, the Claptomaniacs played their first gig and the rest is history!
They have expanded their repertoire to not only include classic Clapton hits but also a great mix of music from the likes of the Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, Steely Dan and some good old Rolling Stones!
Although the musicianship of this group is highly commended, it is the vocal harmonic mix that often surprises listeners with its sweetness and virile lead vocals.
If you can't help but think nostalgically about by gone music eras and enjoy a range of music styles and great musicianship then, The Claptomaniacs are for you!
Catch them at Tewantin Noosa RSL on Friday 7th April in the Diggers Bar from 8pm. It’s a free show and you can get the free courtesy busy there and home again by booking on 5447 1766.
