A new exhibition ‘Colours of the Carnivale’ at Discover Eumundi Heritage and Visitor Centre from Sunday 17 June showcases the colour and creativity that is the Australian Body Art Carnivale.
The 2012 Photographic Awards in both the Photo Print and Digital categories will be announced and presented on the day at 1.30 pm.
Manager of Discover Eumundi Wendy Birrell says the exhibition features all the entries and winning images from this year’s Australian Body Art Carnivale photographic competition.
“There’s also a People’s Choice category, so all visitors to the exhibition have a chance to vote on the images that appeal most to them,” Wendy says.
“There’s no doubt that the event is a photographer’s dream, and the images in the exhibition really showcase the colour and creativity of this unique event,” she says.
“We’ve put together a comprehensive album of prints as well as a digital display of images from the whole Carnivale, showcasing body art, face painting, wearable art, car bonnet art, the ‘All Dolled Up’ decorated dolls display, and more,” Wendy says.
The ’Colours of the Carnivale’ exhibition opens Sunday 17 June, and will be in the old police cells exhibition space at Discover Eumundi until Monday 9 July.
