Residents in Kawana Forest, Meridan Plains and Little Mountain are invited to attend a community forum, which will focus on three key local issues.
Member for Kawana Jarrod Bleijie is hosting the forum in conjunction with the Parklands Community Group and Kawana Forest Residents' Association (KaFRA).
Mr Bleijie said that the main items for discussion will be the proposed energex infrastructure that is planned for Meridan Plains, the sand mine and local road infrastructure including ways to connect Little Mountain to the Kawana Way Link Road.
"After a recent meeting with Parklands Community Group President and Kawana Forest Residents Association, there were some local issues which I felt needed further discussion at a broader community level," Mr Bleijie said.
"This will be the fifth town-hall style forum that I have hosted, following successful forums about the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Unitywater, Coast Connect and Justices of the Peace
"As the state representative for Kawana, I am always conscious to consider the views of the people that I represent.
"It is vital that the broader community are aware of the details of projects that are planned for their neighbourhood.
"One of the biggest complaints that I often receive is that people are only aware of something until it is either about to start, or too late to change.
"Community consultation is a key component of this process and should be treated in that manner."
Mr Bleijie will address the forum with representatives from both community associations.
"Conversation will not be limited to the three main topics, so please make use of the opportunity to discuss other local issues as well.
"I will have my staff with me to assist community members with any issue they need help with," Mr Bleijie said.
